About Dr Tay Jia Sheng
Dr Tay Jia Sheng is a general surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Farrer Park Hospital, Singapore. His subspecialty is in minimally invasive vascular, endovascular and endovenous surgery. He has been practising surgery for more than 20 years.
Dr Tay treats varicose veins, spider veins, venous ulcers and chronic venous insufficiency; deep vein thrombosis, May-Thurner syndrome and pelvic vein congestion syndrome; diabetic foot ulcers for diabetic limb salvage; and aortic aneurysms and Type B aortic dissections requiring Endovascular Aortic Repair or Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair. He also treats peripheral arterial disease and acute limb ischaemia requiring balloon angioplasty, advanced thrombolysis, atherectomy and/or minor amputations; dialysis access, including arteriovenous fistula/graft (AVF/AVG) and advanced laparoscopic/open peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion; excision of lumps and bumps; hernia repair; and gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Tay was a founding surgeon of the vascular and endovascular service at Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). He was a clinical assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School. He was also a clinical teacher at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, part of the physician faculty of SingHealth residency programmes, and a clinical assistant professor at SingHealth Duke-NUS academic clinical programmes.
